War against TIME?

One year after… no matter what we do… looks like time is never enough.

It´s the moment to protect your own time.

10 simple and quick things you can do to reshape your time management.

Note of Laura: Not learning course needed :)

1. Just time… No!!!, it’s YOUR time

It´s your most important resource to take care of you, your belongs, and to create value.

So be serious and careful the way you spend time during these days.

Think about “My time”.

2. First: Short term results!

Surviving time… so organize your activities prioritizing the ones that bring the short term results.

Bring the numbers first, it will give you relief to dedicate to other strategic issues.

This is necessary, but not enough.

3. Schedule your “invisible” work first

Do not wait to have your agenda full of meetings.

It looks like we are having more meetings and since is time to change, we need to dialogue more…

That is good… but we need to do our own work.

So, schedule your time to dedicate to the activities you need to do by yourself.

And defend this time! Use a subject connected with results, so people will know is important.

4. Do not schedule all your time

Urgent activities always pop-up, especially in these times.

And we have to postpone or do extra-work to address most of them.

But... block that time in your agenda, so you will reserve some space for last time issues.

And no worries, if urgent things don’t come, surely you or your team have more time to do stuff.

5. Make meetings worth it!

Fast and agile, two commands for these moments.

Prefer short and frequent meetings: 15, 25, 50 mins. This will give you speed.

Focused on things to decide as a team during the meeting.

Be sure that everyone has the right information for the meeting beforehand.

To spend time discussing and making decisions.

6. Close the cycles immediately

Always save sometime in the end of a meeting and/or your day to do your quick commitments of the meetings.

That will let you move fast and not accumulate things to do.

So, schedule a buffer time between your meetings.

7. Time to learn

Time to improve yourself… and consider it urgent.

So, separate a daily or weekly time to learn.

Prefer related subjects with technology, human behavior, and finances.

No matter what your field is, these three will keep you on shape for the next years.

8. Switch ops to tech

Digitize your activities and those of your team done repetitive.

Analyze what activities can be done supported by technology.

This will send you, your team, and your business to a strategic level.

9. Schedule time for you

Yes, Yes and definitely Yes.

For activities that are important for you

10. Release your own pressure

This could sound tricky.

But if you are responsible you will do what you have to.

Just give yourself some break to ease your own pressure.

First take care of your mental health, then of your time, and you will bring results :)
